Cats swimmers open season at Kalispell Invitational Saturday

The Columbia Falls High School swim team was in action for the first time this season Saturday in the Kalispell Invitational at The Summit.
The Cats finished in the top-10 in eight events as Connor Cheff led the way with a fifth-place showing in the 100 backstroke and was also seventh in the 100 butterfly.
The 200 medley relay team of Pe4yton Malmberg, Cheff, James Role and Bailey Sjostrom took sixth, Adam Schrader was seventh in the 200 individual medley, Emerald Templin was seventh in the 500 freestyle and eighth in the 200 individual medley and Peyton Malmberg was eighth in the 100 freestyle.
The 400 freestyle relay team of Duncan Smith, Role, Cheff and Malmberg took seventh and the 200 medley relay team of Evalyn Hull, Templin, Kathleen Keith and Emma Stoddard finished 10th.
