Marion man dies in crash with logging truck

A 70-year-old man from Marion died in a traffic crash on U.S. 2 west of Kalispell Wednesday afternoon.
According to information from the Montana Highway Patrol, Timothy Mann was driving west in a 2016 Hyundai Tucson about 15 miles west of Kalispell at about 2:30 p.m. when, for unknown reasons, he drifted into the eastbound lane and collided head-on with a Kenworth semi-truck carrying logs.
Mann, who was pronounced dead on the scene, was wearing a seat belt.
The driver of the truck, a 45-year-old Kalispell man, was not injured. He was wearing his seat belt.
Alcohol, drugs or speed were not considered factors in the crash.
Highway Patrol officials said it was the 176th fatal crash on Montana roads in 2019.
