COEUR d'ALENE — This Lit Crawl has it all — poetry, prose, stories and music.

Add that to food and drink specials and social time in the different venues, and you've got the recipe for an engaging event that feeds the mind, body and soul.

"I have loved seeing the crowd that comes out to support these poets and writers and musicians," said Lit Crawl co-organizer and Emerge art gallery executive director Jeni Hegsted. "I have been so entertained by the readers. They are very engaging, their poetry and writings have been just exceptional. It's been a fun thing to watch it evolve over this past year."

Hosted by Emerge, North Idaho Literary Arts, Honey Eatery and Social Club and the Crown and Thistle, the fourth and final Lit Crawl of 2019 will be held Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m., beginning at Emerge, then moving to Crown and Thistle at 7 p.m. and finally to Honey at 8 p.m. Guests will hear live music as well as works from three different writers at each venue.

"There are a lot of people who had not attended a poetry ever before, but putting it in this pub crawl format has made it much more approachable," Hegsted said. "They realize how entertaining these readings can be."

The Lit Crawl is free an open to all. The 2020 series of Lit Crawls is expected to begin in February.
