CLARK FORK —

The Lady Cats were looking for revenge against Priest River on Thursday night, but Clark Fork couldn’t quite pull it off, falling 41-33 to the Spartans.

After losing to Priest River on the road by 20 points last week, the Lady Cats battled while attempting to avoid the season sweep.

Head coach Jordan Adams was proud of the fight her team showed.

“Definitely a better game than the first time we played them,” Adams wrote in a text. “The girls saw the floor a lot better tonight and had some really good looks.”

Only four players scored for Clark Fork but senior Sara Hathaway led the way, tallying 12 points.

Sophomore Katelyn Matteson and senior Ellie Kiebert each added 8 points.

“Basketball is not just a game of who is the best athlete, you have to have a lot of IQ to be successful as well,” Adams wrote. “They’re learning more every game and with every practice.”

The Lady Cats (0-4) hit the road to battle Lakeside 4 p.m. Saturday.
