NIC wrestling dual Thursday

vs. Big Bend postponed

COEUR d’ALENE — North Idaho College’s home wrestling dual with Big Bend Community College slated for Thursday has been postponed due to injuries on the Big Bend team.

The dual has been rescheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7, at NIC’s Christianson Gym.

Vandals Walker, Romano, Griz’s

Louie-McGee earn All-America honors

Idaho Vandals Tre Walker and Nick Romano have taken home some more hardware, earning recognition from HERO Sports.

Walker earned sophomore All-America first team honors as a linebacker, while Romano took home freshman All-America honorable mention honors as a kick returner.

Montana’s Jerry Louie-McGee, a senior from Lake City High, was named third-team All-America as a punt returner by HERO Sports.

Walker finished the regular season second in the Big Sky with 138 total tackles, averaging 11.5 per game. He led the Big Sky with 74 solo tackles and earned All-Big Sky Second Team recognition.

Romano earned All-Big Sky first team honors as a kick returner after finishing second in the Big Sky at 27.0 yards per return. His biggest moment came against Weber State, when he ran back the first kickoff return for a touchdown by a Vandal since 2012.

Jeff Cotton was named an Associated Press All-America third team honoree earlier Tuesday. See full AP All-America team in Scoreboard.

Last season, Idaho had two All-Americans in Noah Johnson (HERO Sports, third team) and Cade Coffey (STATS FCS second team).
