Elections office announces candidate filing dates

Candidate filing periods for Lake County Special Purpose Districts and school board positions opened Dec. 12, according to Elections Administrator Katie Harding.

Special Purpose District candidates can file at the Elections Office in the lower level of the Lake County Courthouse. Filing ends February 10, 2020. This includes the following Fire Districts and Fire Service Areas: Arlee Rural (2 positions), Charlo/Moiee (2), Chief Cliff Fire Service Area (2), Ferndale Rural (2), Montecahto Rural (1), Polson Rural (2), Rollins Rural (2), Ronan Rural (2), St. Ignatius Rural (2), Swan Lake Rural (1), and Swan Valley fire Service Area (1).

The Water and Sewer Districts of Arlee, Charlo, Mission Mountain Country Club, Pablo, Ponderilla Hills, and Woods Bay each have two positions. Greater Woods Bay Sewer District and Jette Meadows each have three.

The Flathead Irrigation District has two positions; Jocko and Mission Districts each have one.

School board candidates can file at their school district administration offices until March 26, 2020 to file.

Filing for the county positions of Clerk of Court and Commissioner opens Jan. 9 – Mar. 9, 2020.

Candidates file with the Lake County Elections Office.

Candidates for federal and state level offices file with the Secretary of State’s Office Jan. 9–Mar. 9.
