POST FALLS — The Lady Cats nearly picked up their second straight victory Thursday night, falling 47-44 to Post Falls JV.

The Lady Cats came out strong in the second half as sophomore Katelyn Matteson scored 8 points in the third quarter to propel Clark Fork to a 36-30 advantage.

But the Lady Cats couldn’t hold off the Trojans, who outscored Clark Fork 17-8 in the fourth quarter to steal the victory.

Matteson and sophomore Caiya Yanik led the team with 12 points each.

“It was pretty awesome to play a freshman team at a bigger school and be able to hang with them,” head coach Jordan Adams said.

Clark Fork (1-6) takes the court Tuesday, Jan. 7 at Mullan.
