COEUR d’ALENE — The Inland Northwest Saxophone Quartet will perform for the public during two music sessions on Saturday.

At 10:30 a.m., the Quartet will play in the Coeur d'Alene Public Library Community Room. The musicians will then play in the entry of Kootenai Health at 12:30 p.m.

The woodwind equivalent of a barbershop quartet with a perfect blend of sound, the Inland Northwest Saxophone Quartet has planned a program of holiday music and Christmas carols for all to enjoy. Audiences are encouraged to celebrate the Christmas spirit and sing along.

The Quartet comprises members of the Coeur d’Alene Symphony woodwind section: Sheila McCallum, soprano; Merilee Updike, alto; Craig Catlett, tenor; and Jill Cathey, baritone.

Mandy Harris, youth services librarian at the Coeur d’Alene Public Library Children’s Library, will have books for young readers to check out during the library performance, which is underwritten by TDS Telecom. The Kootenai Health performance is underwritten by Paul and Susan Kennedy.

Both concerts are free and open to the public.

The library is at 702 E. Front Ave. Kootenai Health is at 2003 Kootenai Health Way.
