Notable Calls of the day!

- Backcountry Deputies responded to the area of Hayden Creek for an accident involving a Forest Service vehicle. This was a non-injury accident.

- Deputies, along with medical responded to an unconscious person who fell. The male subject was transported by medical to the hospital.

- Deputies responded to several crashes throughout the county. All of the crashes were non-injury and related to driving too fast for the weather conditions.

- Deputies assisted Idaho State Police with several crashes on I-90, Hwy 3, Hwy 95 and Hwy 41, due to most of their units being tied up on Fourth of July pass and on a semi accident on Hwy 95 at MP 420.

- A School Resource Deputy was at one of the elementary schools when a student was hit with a ball and was having trouble breathing. The Deputy helped keep the child calm until the child’s parents arrived and took them to the doctor.

- A School Resource Deputy was requested to respond to one of his schools for a possible disorderly subject. Upon arrival at the school and the unknown situation, the school went into a Lockdown/Lockout mode. Deputies were able to determine a male with some mental disabilities was tired of walking and wanted to wait in the school for a ride. The school would not “Buzz him in” so he got angry. The male’s parents were called to the school and took the male. At no time was there any danger to the children or staff and the lockdown mode was only for a couple of minutes.

- A K-9 Deputy responded to the area of Davenport and Hanley for a Welfare Check reference a child reportedly being drug down the street. One of our Civilian Report Takers were on scene within 30 seconds, and after a check of the area, and a conversation with the RP, it was determined this child was throwing “a tantrum” and the mother was handling it. Additionally, there were no other calls or reports of this incident (ruling out a possible abduction issue). 19-49374

- Deputies responded to Walmart-Hayden for a suspicious male in the electronics department. It was reported by the RP (Loss Prevention) the male had stolen multiple piece of electronics from Walmart-Post Falls. A check of the area was completed, and the male was not located, nor were there any reported thefts, etc. from Walmart. 19-49382

- Deputies responded to the Rose Lake Conoco for a report of an unwanted person. A male, described as acting disorderly and asking the clerk at the register if he could buy drugs, was in the store. Prior to Deputies arrival, the male had left the location and began walking westbound on I-90 with the intention of going to Seattle. ISP then received multiple welfare check and traffic hazard complaints regarding the male however no crime was committed upon their interaction with him and he eventually returned to the store. Deputies arrived on scene and contacted the male. The male was trespassed from the store and given a courtesy transport to Coeur d’Alene. 19-49425

- Deputies responded to an address on E. Hayden Lake Road for a reported business burglary alarm. Upon arrival the Deputies located an un-secure door. A K-9 from CDAPD was requested and the building was cleared. No signs of forced entry were found and the owner responded to secure the building. 19-49443

- Deputies took a theft report from an address on W. Boekel Road regarding Christmas decorations being stolen sometime overnight. As it turns out, the wind blew them away. 19-49477

- Deputies handled numerous residential and commercial alarms throughout the shift, likely due to the high winds overnight. All of the residence and businesses were secured and no signs of entry were detected.
