Post Falls ends trip with rough outing against Madison
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 5 years, 1 month AGO
REXBURG — A midgame scoring drought negated a solid defensive performance by Post Falls, as the Trojans lost 50-34 to Madison on Saturday afternoon to finish a three-games-in-three-days trip to Eastern Idaho.
The Bobcats (5-3) held Post Falls (6-2) to a combined six points in the second and third quarters, allowing the hosts to take a 31-18 lead through three periods.
“Usually if you hold someone to 50 points, you can score enough to win the game,” Trojans coach Mike McLean said. “Madison was real physical with us and tried to take away some of our actions. Our shots just didn’t fall.
“I think it was more mental fatigue than physical fatigue,” he added. “We just weren’t dialed in mentally, and we struggled with the little things we need to do to win on the road against a strong program like Madison.”
Taden King led the Bobcats with 17 points, with Dawson Wills adding 10 points.
Alex Horning (11 points) and Colby Gennett (10 points) led Post Falls, which returns to action next Saturday at Mt. Spokane.

“They zoned us a little bit, and it was nice to see some other guys knock some down,” Hanna said. “We started getting some nice open looks at the end of the third quarter and into the fourth. We’re a young team, and it was nice to see us have some composure and finish it out.”
