The Stillwater State Forest is looking for any information regarding vandalism that occurred earlier this month to destroy signs located on the state forest.
Sometime between the evening of Wednesday, Dec. 11 and the morning of Thursday, Dec. 12, an individual started a piece of logging equipment owned by a local contractor and destroyed state and private property, according to a release from the Stillwater Forest.
The incident occurred at the Olney Snowmobile Trailhead near the junction of U.S. Highway 93 and Upper Whitefish Road.
The individual used the equipment to crush an informational kiosk owned by the DNRC Stillwater Unit, and destroy the fee box and sign placed at the same location by the Flathead Snowmobile Association.
Anyone with any information related to the incident is encouraged to contact 1-800-TIP-MONT or the Stillwater Unit at 406-881-2371. Calls will remain anonymous.
