Man dies after head-on collision

A Montana man succumbed on Sunday to injuries sustained in a crash between Coeur d’Alene and Worley last week.

James Leslie, 85, of Kalispell, Mont., was reportedly traveling northbound in the southbound lanes on US-95 milepost 419 on the morning of Dec. 19.

After several other drivers attempted to warn Leslie, a head-on collision occurred with his vehicle and a loaded logging truck, driven by Robert Henson, 49, of Troy, Mont.

Idaho State Police responded to the crash at 6:47 a.m. The road was blocked for about two hours.

Leslie, who was not wearing a seat belt, was transported to Kootenai Health, where he died on Dec. 22.

Henson was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.
