WALLACE — The first Joint-Chamber Installation Banquet of the new decade will be held in just a couple of weeks when the Wallace Chamber of Commerce hosts the 2020 Installation Banquet.

Themed “Here’s Looking at You, Kid: 2020, A Common Vision” — a modern twist on Humphrey Bogart’s famous line from the 1942 film, “Casablanca” — the event is promoting unity between the two chambers of commerce.

The annual event signifies the changing of the guard in leadership for both chambers as well as an introduction for the newest board members.

The banquet also doubles as an awards ceremony for the chambers who present many awards, including citizens of the year (one for each chamber).

This year, the Wallace Chamber of Commerce will be led by President Anita Price, Vice President James McMillan, Treasurer Luanne Wuerfel, and Secretary Talen Caraway, as well as board members Dr. Bob Ranells, Brenda Johnson, Jim Price, Matt Sawyer and Scott Haney.

The Silver Valley Chamber of Commerce will head into 2020 under the leadership of President Tara Lodi, Vice President Diannah Fields-Brown, 2nd Vice President Keri Alexander, Treasurer/Secretary Karen Hulstrom, director Chris Marker, and assistant director Makenzie Reynoldson.

They will be joined by board members Scott Albrethson, Brendan Bonner, Justin Cline, Gus Colburn, Kelton Enich, Shaylene Jerome, Dr. Nancy Larsen, Monica Miller, Nathan Wendt and Juli Zook.

Wallace Blues Festival local favorite John Kelley will be performing throughout the evening, which should keep the party atmosphere alive all night at the Wallace Elks.

“It ought to be a blast. We’ve got great music by Blues Festival Favorite John Kelley, fantastic chefs catering the meal Flavor Fusion’s Rose Holcomb and Elk’s Chef Sano Haldi, unmatched ambiance of the Elks Upstairs Ballroom, and the Elks’ bottomless liquor cabinet,” Wallace Chamber coordinator Dave Copelan said. “The party will have a Casablanca motif, using Humphrey Bogart’s line from that 1942 film classic, ‘Here’s Looking at You, Kid.’ It’s a fun play on the year 2020 and a ‘shared vision’ theme. If there is one thing we love to do in Wallace, it’s having a good time. We’ll see you there.”

The 2020 Joint Chamber Installation Banquet is set for Friday, Jan. 10, at the Wallace Elks Club. Cocktail hour starts at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 7.

Tickets are available for pre-purchase, for more information call the Wallace Chamber at (208) 753-7151 or the Silver Valley Chamber at (208) 784-0821.

The suggested attire for the evening is black and white formal.
