Two Superior/Alberton co-op Clark Fork wrestlers earned championships at the Western B-C Divisional tournament last Saturday at Thompson Falls High School.

Trey Green took on Dakota Irvine of Thompson Falls/Noxon in the 182-pound championship match, and worked his way to a 16-5 major decision.

Jacob Lapinki, with only three wrestlers in the heavyweight bracket, pinned O`Maste Foster of Florence-Carlton — taking just 57 seconds to claim the title.

The Eureka Lions dominated the action once again with their fifth team championship in a row. Florence-Carlton was second, followed by St. Ignatius (Mission)/Charlo, Clark Fork, Plains/Hot Springs, Thompson Falls/Noxon, Arlee and Bigfork.

Six Mountain Cats qualified for the all-class State Wrestling Tournament this Friday and Saturday in the Rimrock Auto Arena at Metra Park in Billings.

Joining Green and Lapinski in Billings will be Isaiah Kovalsky, Kyler Francis, Wesley Buchannen and Hunter Haskins.

Kovalsky finished third in the 145-pound class and Francis was third at 160 — both winning their medal matches by fall. Buchannen (132) and Haskins (138) both placed fourth.
