MOSES LAKE — A young child was not seriously injured in a drive-by shooting in the Larson community Friday night.

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to a residence in the 800 block of Cannon Lane about 9 p.m. for a shots fired call. Deputies discovered several shots had been fired and a residence was struck.

“Deputies were also advised that a green late ’90s Honda passenger car with shaded windows and black rims was seen fleeing the area. Deputies and Moses Lake police responded but did not find the Honda,” stated the sheriff’s office.

An 8-year-old child inside the residence was struck by debris as a result of the gunfire. The child did not sustain any injuries, however. Deputies collected evidence at the scene, which has been sent to the crime lab for analysis. Deputies will be reviewing surveillance footage to find additional evidence.
