MOSES LAKE — The Grant County Republicans will hold their 2019 Lincoln Day Dinner on Saturday, Feb. 16 at the Pillar Rock Grill, 1373 Rd F.2 NE, in Moses Lake, at the golf course. A reception and silent auction will be held at 5 p.m., with dinner at 6 p.m. A live auction and speakers will be held after dinner.

Speakers include former Chairperson for the Washington State Republican Party and a former candidate for the U.S. Senate, Susan B. Hutchison.

“For the past five years, Susan Hutchison was the Washington State Republican party chair,” said Barbara Morgan, chair for the Grant County Republicans. “She resigned to run against Senator Maria Cantwell.”

“Susan is well spoken. She is a former TV anchor from Seattle. She is very politically savvy.”

Other speakers at the event will include elected officials from various state and county offices.

A live and silent auction will be held. The silent auction will start at 5 p.m. The live auction will begin after dinner, with the speakers to follow. Among the items up for auction this year are a chair with a patriot motif, a load of sand or gravel from Tommer Construction, a 40-person bowling party with taco bar at Lake Bowl in Moses Lake and a two-person golfing experience with carts at both Moses Pointe and the Moses Lake Country Club.

The Lincoln Day Dinner is the annual fundraiser for the Grant County Republicans. Usually 100 to 115 people attend the event.

“This is our major annual fundraiser,” said Morgan. “The funds we get there sustain us through the year.”

Tickets are $50 per person and may be purchased online at www.grantcountygop.com and on Facebook. Tickets may also be purchased from Grant County Republicans committee members or by calling 951-218-8209. Tickets will be available at the door. Space is limited.

The next year, they gave baskets to more families. In the years since, the Othello Community Christmas Baskets has become a city-wide event with various groups raising money, food, warm clothes and toys for Othello families in need.
