Tyree to pitch at Dakota Wesleyan

Columbia Falls baseball standout Trenton Tyree will be taking the diamond at the next level in the fall after signing to play at Dakota Wesleyan University last week.
Located in Mitchell, S.D., the DWU Tigers went 11-28 overall and 7-19 in Great Plains Athletic Conference play last season under the leadership of head coach John Greicar.
Tyree was a member of the 2018 state and regional champion Glacier Twins team as well as the 2017 Glacier All-Stars team that also won a state title.
Tyree said Greicar first noticed him during a fall-ball game in which he struck out 11 batters in five innings. It was soon after that Greicar offered Tyree a scholarship.
A pitcher with strong fastball, Tyree also has in his arsenal a curve, slider and changeup and is grateful for the opportunity to use them at the college level.
“I am looking forward to starting at DWU in August and then I will get to play baseball nine months of the year,” he said. “It doesn’t get much better than that.”
