SANDPOINT — Happy Valentine’s Day! May love touch each of our lives with its confusing, transforming, life-affirming brand of beauty.
The calendar starts off tonight with some fun Valentine’s options for couples and singles alike, including the no-date-needed dinner dance for all ages at the Sandpoint Senior Center, speed dating at Mick Duff’s Beer Hall, Chris O’Murchu at Pend Oreille Winery and opening night for the hilarious play, “Drinking Habits” on the Panida main stage (runs through Sunday).
Winter Carnival weekend rolls in on the heels of actual winter weather — gasp! — with family friendly events in town and up at Schweitzer, including the Lauren Sheehan concert Friday night at DiLuna’s Café.
Long story short — bundle up and join the fun!
Thursday, Feb. 14
Chris O’Murchu
Venue: Pend d’Oreille Winery, 301, Cedar St., in Sandpoint.
Time: 5-8 p.m.
Share a romantic evening with your loved one at the Pend d’Oreille Winery tasting room! They will be offering a special Valentine’s Day menu of specialty cheeses and chocolate carefully paired with library wines and live music by Chris O’Murchu.

‘Drinking Habits’
Venue: Panida Theater, 300 N. First Ave., in Sandpoint.
Time: 7 p.m.
The Panida Playhouse Players bring this delightful, laugh-out-loud, farcical play to the Panida’s main stage. Starring Kate McAllister as Mother Superior, who becomes paranoid that Rome may be trying to take her convent of the Sisters of Perpetual Sewing away from her and has to find out who the spy is.

‘No Date Needed’ Valentine’s Dinner & Dance
Venue: Sandpoint Senior Center, 820 Main St., Sandpoint.
Time: 5 p.m.
It’s a friendship dinner/dance for all ages. The center’s new chef, Greg Bolen, is making a great dinner and music will be provided by SASi’s house band, Country Plus. Admission: $20 adults, $10 children under 12. RSVP by calling 208-263-6860, as there is limited seating.
Valentine’s Day Speed Dating
Venue: MickDuff’s Beer Hall, 220 Cedar St., in Sandpoint.
Time: 6-8 p.m.

Friday, Feb. 15
Winter Carnival Parade of Lights
Venue: Downtown Sandpoint
Time: 5:30 p.m.
The Weird and Wonderful Winter Parade of Lights arrives in downtown Sandpoint with its zany floats, marching groups, and snow-shovel brigades! Sponsored by Ting, the parade starts at the city parking lot and continues east on Church Street to Second Avenue, north to Main Street, west on Oak Street to Fourth Avenue, and returning down Church to the parking lot.
Admission: Free and open to the public.

Lauren Sheehan

Time: Doors open at 6 p.m. for dinner and the concert starts at 7:30 p.m.
Roots Americana musician, Lauren Sheehan has been sailing on to critical acclaim, national/international radio charts and encores at festivals, concerts and venues across the country and in Canada.

Winter Carnival Block Party

Pend d’Oreille Winery sponsors the Winter Carnival block party on Third Avenue. Warm up by the fire pits, dance to DJ KT Rains and enjoy this family-friendly community event from 6-9 p.m., or warm up inside with the music of One Street Over.

Schweitzer and Coca Cola celebrate Sandpoint’s Winter Carnival with the ‘Let it Glow!’ kids’ parade and fireworks show. Schweitzer will be handing out free LED battery-powered ‘torches’ to all kids who have pre-registered and then leading the whole group down Ridge Run for a nighttime LED parade followed by the fireworks show!
