Volunteers are needed to assist in leading programs in the Whitefish School District aimed at providing business lessons.

The Junior Achievement program is for middle and high school classroom and is looking for volunteers to lead short games and discussions focused on work readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy.

Junior Achievement is a national program aimed at providing hands-on learning for students. Locally, volunteers are needed to work in classrooms at Whitefish Middle School and Whitefish High School.

Volunteers visit a classroom a total of five times, usually once a week for five weeks. Each visit is about 40-45 minutes long.

At the middle school, volunteers are needed for the JA “It’s My Business” program for Jeanne Brist’s sixth-grade and eighth-grade classes. For the sixth-grade class there are six visits between March 8 and May 31 from 2:35-3:25 p.m., and for eighth-grade there are six visits between March 1 to May 31 from 8:51-9:38 a.m., 9:42-10:29 a.m., 10:33-11:20 a.m. or 12:57-1:44 p.m.

At the high school, volunteers are needed for the JA “Career Success” class for Willie Roche’s classroom. Seven visits are needed on Wednesday from 1:30-2:15 p.m. between now and the end of the school year.
