Lake County investigating death of Sanders County inmate

A 45-year-old Mineral County inmate who was being housed at the Sanders County Detention Center died Tuesday evening, Feb. 13, according to a release from the Sanders County Sheriff’s Office.

An investigation has been initiated to determine the cause and manner of death; at this time, the death is believed to be medically related. Pursuant to standard procedures regarding an in-custody death, a request was made to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, which will assume responsibility to conduct the investigation and perform coroner duties.

Any further questions should be directed to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office at 406-883-7279. The office will release further findings once they become available.

Crime problem

SANDERS COUNTY - Last week the Sanders County Sheriff’s Office released a Crime Stopper Report to the public. The two reports included the descriptions of multiple burglaries that happened in western and eastern parts of Sanders County.
