Four Little Guy Wrestling teams met in Superior on Thursday to open the 2019 season.

“This is just kind of a warm-up match,” said Clark Fork coach Charlie Crabb. He added that they weren’t really keeping score or stats.

The teams included the Clark Fork Mountain Cats, Plains/Hot Springs and Arlee, and featured grades 7 and 8 wrestlers, and a few sixth-graders.

The Mission Mountain Classic was held last weekend at St. Ignatius. Friday featured middle and junior age groups (grades 6-8), with beginners and novice wrestlers (grades 1-5) in action Saturday.

The Arlee Mixer in Arlee, and Mission Mixer in Polson scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 26 were both cancelled due to adverse traveling conditions.

Another Arlee Mixer is set for Thursday, Feb. 28. The Plains/Hot Springs Mixer for wrestlers of all grade levels is Friday, March 1. On Saturday, March 2, the Polson Invitational (grades 1-5) is on tap, with grapplers in grades 6-8 at the Dillon Jayces Invitational. The Kootenai Classic is also Saturday in Libby. On Tuesday, March 5, the Mission Mixer (grades 5-8) is set for Polson.
