The Othello Music Boosters raised over $6,000 during their dinner auction fundraiser Thursday evening.
“It was a successful event and we were able to raise over $6,000, thanks to the very generous community of Music Boosters supporters,” Jennifer Huang said. “The boosters and the students were able to acquire nearly 80 items for the silent auction, many of which were created by the students themselves.”
The live auction had 16 items, including movie tickets, pool parties, beef jerky, a remote control four-wheeler and solos from Othello High School band members.
“We want to thank Jaynae Bunch and all of her kitchen assistants for preparing all the food for the evening, Eric Askren for his lively and entertaining job as our emcee and Terry Thompson for once again being the auctioneer for our fundraiser,” Huang said. “Proceeds from the fundraiser will go towards scholarships for graduating seniors, music camps, All-State and All-Northwest participant fees, food for band/choir events, snacks for the pep band, hotel costs for overnight trips and help with the costs for band/choir tours.”
