Female mountain lion hunting closed, HD 317
The hunting of female mountain lions in southwestern Montana Hunting District 317, which includes portions of Park County, closed Jan. 3.
Bobcat season closed in Trapping District 3
By order of the Montana Fish & Wildlife Commission, the hunting and/or trapping season for taking bobcats in Trapping District 3 in southwestern Montana closed at midnight on Jan. 3.
The district includes portions of Beaverhead, Broadwater, Deer Lodge, Gallatin, Jefferson, Lewis & Clark, Madison, Meagher, Park and Silver Bow counties.
Mountain lion hunting closed in several HDs in Regions 3 and 4
As of sunset Jan. 2:
Hunting of all mountain lions is closed in Hunting Districts 313, 316 and 340. This includes portions of Park, Carbon, Sweetgrass, Beaverhead, Madison, Jefferson and Silver Bow counties.
Hunting of female mountain lions is closed in Hunting Districts 318 and 335, which includes portions of Lewis and Clark and Jefferson counties.
Hunting of male mountain lions is closed in Hunting Districts 411 and 412, which includes portions of Golden Valley, Fergus & Judith Basin counties.
Female mountain lion hunting closed, HDs 319 and 341
The hunting of female mountain lions in southwestern Montana Hunting Districts 319 and 341, which include portions of Silver Bow and Deer Lodge counties, closed Dec. 29.
The closure notices came shortly after Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks officials received word that the pre-established harvest quotas or sub-quotas for the districts had been met.
