Applications taken for avalanche training scholarships

The Patrol Fund is accepting applications for avalanche and backcountry medicine scholarships for courses this winter at Whitefish Mountain Resort.

Applications are being accepted through Sunday, Jan. 13 and all materials must be emailed to info@thepatrolfund.org or delivered to the Summit Patrol Headquarters at the resort.

Applicants must submit a completed application form and essay, one letter of reference and a current resume.

Courses include: Wilderness First Aid, offered through Aerie Backcountry Medicine, various classes to choose from, course value is $195; wilderness first responder, offered through Aerie Backcountry Medicine, various classes to select, course value is $625; Level 1 Avalanche, offered through The Patrol Fund Inc., courses March 12–14 at Whitefish Mountain Resort, course value $200; Level 1 Avalanche (women only, offered through The Patrol Fund Inc., course dates Feb. 1 – 3, Whitefish Mountain Resort, course value $200; and Level 2 Avalanche, through The Patrol Fund Inc., course date Feb. 21–24, Whitefish Mountain Resort, course value is $350.

The mission of The Patrol Fund Inc. is to provide educational opportunities and financial assistance for our ski community and winter enthusiasts to further their snow safety awareness and wilderness first aid knowledge
