Fisher season to close in Bitterroot FMU

By order of the Montana Fish & Wildlife Commission, the season for taking fisher in portions of Trapping District 2 of northwestern Montana will close at midnight on the evening of Saturday, January 12.

Bitterroot FMU includes Mineral and Ravalli Counties, and that portion of Missoula County that is south of interstate 90.

Male mountain lion hunting to close, HDs 422, 423, 424, 425, 442

The hunting of male mountain lions in central Montana Hunting District’s 422, 423, 424, 425 and 442, which includes portions of Lewis and Clark and Teton counties, will close at onehalf hour after sunset on Friday, Jan. 11.

The closure notice for the hunt came shortly after Fish, Wildlife & Parks officials received word that the pre-established harvest sub-quota had been met.

Mountain lion hunting closed in HDs 123 & 315

The hunting of male mountain lions closed Jan. 10 in northwestern Montana hunting district 123.

The hunting of all mountain lions in southwestern Montana hunting district 315, which includes portions of Meagher, Park and Sweet Grass counties, also closed Jan. 10.

The closure notice for the hunts came shortly after Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks officials received word that the pre-established harvest sub-quota and quota had been met.

The hunting of all mountain lions in southwestern Montana hunting districts 323, 324, 325 and 327, which include portions of Madison and Beaverhead counties, will closed Jan. 8.

The order halting the hunt came shortly after Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks officials received word that the pre-established harvest quota.

Bobcat season closed in TD 4

By order of the Montana Fish & Wildlife Commission, the season for taking bobcats in Trapping District 4 in south central Montana closed at midnight on Jan. 9.

The district includes portions of Hill, Glacier, Chouteau, Toole, Liberty, Pondera, Teton, Cascade, Lewis and Clark, Meagher, Judith Basin, Fergus, and Petroleum counties.
