PLUMMER — Sophomore Day Day Higgins scored 16 of his 21 points in the first half, and the Lakeside Knights pulled away in the middle two quarters to beat the visiting Kootenai Warriors 71-44 in North Star League play Thursday night at Ron Miller Court.

Kenyon SpottedHorse added 16 points, Talon Twoteeth 13 for Lakeside (9-5, 3-2 NSL), which led 17-12 after one quarter, then outscored the Warriors 38-18 in the middle two quarters.

Jarrett Usdrowski scored 14 points, Gage Maitland 12 and Triston Usdrowski 11 for Kootenai (6-4, 2-4), which was playing its third game — all in league — in three nights.

“We wore ’em down a little bit, got some steals and were able to get out and get some easy layins,” Lakeside coach James Twoteeth said. “They (the Warriors) came out firing — they put up a good fight for three quarters.”
