The Wildkats basketball squad picked up a 39-21 win over Hamilton at home Saturday in a contest that seemed more like a football game at times.
Offense was at a premium in the first half as the Wildkats trailed 6-2 after one quarter before outscoring the Lady Broncs 8-2 in the second quarter to grab a 10-8 halftime lead.
The Wildkats opened things up in the third quarter, using a 13-0 run to go up 23-8 before taking a 29-11 lead into the fourth quarter.
The physical play continued in the fourth quarter as both teams scored 10 points to give Columbia Falls an 18-point victory.
Trista Cowan led all scorers with 13 points while Josie Windauer added 11, Ryley Kehr scored seven, Maddie Robison had four and Hannah Schweikert and Paige Burger each added two.
Abby Johnson and Katelyn Dickemore led Hamilton with five points each.
The boys were at Hamilton Saturday, where the Wildcats fell to the Broncs, 78-40.
