BONNERS FERRY — On Jan. 19, students participated in the Boundary County School District 101 Elementary School Spelling Bee sponsored by the Rotary Club of Bonners Ferry, Naples Helping Hands, and Boundary County School District #101, hosted at the Free Methodist Church.

The first and second place winners received gift certificates to Bonner’s Books and will be invited to compete at the regional level in March.

Third grade winners were Caden Bates in first place and Sophia Jackson in second place, both from Valley View Elementary School.

The fourth grade winners were Jace Thompson from Mt. Hall Elementary School in first place and Madilyn Gibbins from Valley View in second place.

The fifth grade winners were Zabrielle Tuma from Idaho Virtual Academy in first place and Hallie Hartman from Mt. Hall in second place.

The sixth grade winners were Max Callahan-Winkler in first and Rylie Kimball in second. Seventh grade winners were Ana Chase in first place and Chris Meyer in second. Eighth grade winners were Tyler Stockdale in first and Seth Tuma in second.
