OTHELLO — K-9 Grizzly reportedly took a bite out of a man over the weekend who was sought in connection with an alleged domestic violence incident.
The Adams County Sheriff’s Office says about 6 p.m. Sunday night deputies responded to a report of a domestic violence incident in the 2200 block of Rainier Road, near Othello. Officers with the Othello Police Department arrived shortly before deputies and after speaking with the alleged victim deputies, along with the assistance of the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife and Grant County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Grizzly, attempted to locate the suspect, identified as James L. Ewing, 53, at his Rainier Road residence.
Ewing refused to come out of the residence for about two hours, which is when a warrant was obtained for the residence. The residence was entered and Grizzly reportedly ended up biting Ewing. Ewing was treated for injuries at the Othello Community Hospital and later booked into the Adams County Jail for second-degree assault (domestic violence), second-degree malicious mischief (domestic violence), second-degree theft (domestic violence) interfering with reporting of domestic violence and resisting arrest.
