Spending time recovering after appendicitis Jordan Holt became fascinated with the interworking of a hospital.

The experience he had as a young man led him to pursue a career in healthcare. Holt is the new administrator of Invigorate Post Acute of Whitefish.

“I spent a couple days in the hospital,” he said. “It was the experience seeing the doctors and nurses in the hospital and I became intrigued by it. I became interested in the business side of healthcare.”

Invigorate Healthcare in November took over ownership of the rehabilitation and nursing center on East Seventh Street in Whitefish formally known as Genesis HealthCare. The facility provides short-term rehabilitation including physical, occupational and speech therapy, along with stroke recovery programs. The facility has 100 bends and also provides long-term nursing care.

Holt points to the logo for Invigorate as a model for the company’s goal of dispelling with the idea that nursing facilities are quiet places.

“It looks like someone holding their hands in the air,” he said of the logo. “We want to be the energizing face of healthcare. We want our employees to be happy which makes for better care for the patients. We want to be involved in the community.”

There are about 70 employees on staff at the facility, though it’s currently hiring.

Holt relocated from California to Whitefish to serve as administrator of Invigorate here. He has a bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration from Brigham Young University.

Holt says he enjoys working in healthcare administration because it’s a field that’s always changing.

“We’re always adapting our practices based on changes in the regulations,” he said. “And we’re always looking to make changes for the better and to be more patient-focused.”

Invigorate Healthcare was founded in 2016 and is based in Fresno, California. It also owns a facility in Butte, and has locations in California and Colorado.
