Thirteen skiers from the Sandpoint Nordic Ski team competed in classic sprint races as well as a biathlon relay in Libby, Montana this past weekend.
There were races for every skier from ages three to 14-years-old. The biathlon course, developed and built by Ben Scott, a dentist and former Olympic biathlete living in Libby, Montana, was a dream that started several years ago. Now, on the Flower Creek Nordic Trails, which are groomed and maintained by the Kootenay Nordic Club, the Libby site is an official biathlon range. Skiers from Sandpoint, Libby, Whitefish and Kalispell also participated in the races.
