Last week, the owners of the Hilltop Motel began to tear down one of their older six-room units. The building had not been in operation for several years because of its deteriorating conditions. The motel has been owned by Nancy and Gary Hill for 26 years.
The three-building motel was built in the 1940s, and the house was built in 1901. The remaining eight units will remain open. Nancy said they will not replace the unit which was torn down. This will leave four single units; one double-bed room; and one triple-bed room, plus a unit which sleeps up to eight people.
Each room has a kitchenette, which she said is great for hunters or road workers. Tthey can put a meal in a crock pot and come back to a nice meal,” she said.
