Fourth of July schedule of events

BONNERS FERRY — The Fourth of July celebratory events will kick off at 4:30 p.m. as people that wish to participate in the parade will be lining up at the Boundary County Fairgrounds. The parade begins at 5 p.m., and will meander through downtown Bonners Ferry and conclude back at the fairgrounds.
At about 6 p.m., the opening ceremonies of the presentation of the flags, the Pledge of Allegiance, Invocation, and the performance of the national anthem, ‘The Star-Spangled Banner.’
At 7 p.m., Family Fun Night will commence, followed by the Bonners Ferry Orchestra performing at 8 p.m. At 9:30 p.m., there will be a raffle drawing and Len Pine will present the audience with God Bless America.
At 10 p.m. the fireworks show will begin for the enjoyment of attendees both at the fairgrounds and around town.
The City of Bonners Ferry wants to remind people that it is illegal to discharge fireworks within city limits per Bonners Ferry City Code 7-4-4. This includes both aerial and ground fireworks.

The Compass Grille and Bonners Ferry Bottom Dollar will also be hosting a Fourth of July event. There will be a dunk tank, bounce house, face painting, and other family friendly activities for attendees to enjoy. From 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., they will be hosting a hot dog eating contest. There will be family sized ‘Firework Picnic Dinners’ available for purchase from 4-8 p.m. consisting of 6 burgers, drinks, chips, and cookies.
