Police investigate shooting in Kalispell

One man was in critical condition after a shooting in South Kalispell on Friday evening.
According to Kalispell Police, officers were called to the scene of a shooting at 5:40 p.m. on the southwest side of Kalispell. Dispatch scanner traffic indicated the shooting occurred on the 1800 block of North Belmar Drive.
Upon arrival, police found a 33-year-old man with a gunshot wound and life-threatening injuries. The victim was transported to Kalispell Regional Medical Center and was in critical condition.
Another man was arrested and placed into custody, police said.
According to police logs, the person who called 911 said there was a scuffle between the two men, and that the victim allegedly “attacked” and ripped the shooter off a motorcycle.
The shooting remains under investigation. Phone calls to Kalispell Police for further information were not returned by presstime.
