The Flathead County Democratic Women’s Club is holding its fourth annual garden tour on Saturday, July 20.

The self-guided tour features nine gardens, show-casing beautiful horticultural aesthetics and designs with a strong educational component, including sustainable, organic gardening, a community garden with a “Plant-A-Row for the Hungry,” as well as educational gardening hand-outs from Montana State University.

There will be a mini garden market and plant sale as part of the tour at the Whitefish Community Garden. The sale includes many different perennials, native rose bushes, raspberry canes, berry bushes and plants, as well as a variety of trees. Gallon-sized plants are priced at $3; trees starting at $5.

Free refreshments and prize drawings are also included.

The tour runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at gardens in Whitefish and the surrounding area. It will take place rain or shine.

The tour is a fundraiser that allows for the club to award five $500 scholarships, based on merit, need, and personal values, in the 2019-2020 school year to Flathead County graduating seniors and qualifying FVCC students.

Tickets are $15 per person and children under 14 are free with a paying adult.

Tickets are available at Nancy O’s Interiors in Bigfork, Kalispell Grand Hotel, Frame of Reference in Whitefish and Uptown Hearth Bakery in Columbia Falls. Payment by check or cash only at these locations.
