The Glacier Twins got their fair share of baseball last weekend, competing in Helena at the five-day Keith Sell Tournament.

The Twins started off hot in the tournament, opening with a 6-4 win over Butte on Wednesday.

On Thursday the team faced a minor setback against the Lethbridge Elks AA squad, losing 12-10, but they got back at it with a 9-1 blowout over Calgary on Friday.

Later that day, Glacier took it to Eastside.

Jack Schwaiger drove in five runs in a 14-5 win over Eastside. The twins scored in all innings but the third, putting up three runs in the first, fifth and sixth innings each.

Stevyn Andrachick was the winning pitcher for the Twins.

The Twins concluded the tournament with a tough battle against the hosting Helena Senators, falling 5-2.

Chad Queen was the losing pitcher in that game. He gave up three hits and four runs but struck out one over three innings. The team as a whole had five errors in the field.

Forrest Kobelt was the highlight for the team, knocking in the team’s two runs in the fourth inning. He finished 2-for-3 on the day.

This week the Twins get back to Memorial Field.

On Tuesday after press time they hosted the Bitterroot Bucs for a conference showdown.

This weekend they’ll host the Sapa/Johnsrud Tournament at Memorial Field, starting on Thursday and concluding on Sunday.

The Twins will play at 7:30 p.m. on both Thursday and Friday, then they’ll play at noon and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.

The championship bracket starts at 9 a.m. on Sunday for the third and fourth-place game, while the title game starts at 11:30 a.m.
