BLANCHARD — Bonner County sheriff’s investigators investigated a reported shooting on Tuesday evening.
The sheriff’s office put out an alert on Nixle at 6:30 p.m. advising residents there was heavy law enforcement activity in the area of Stoneridge Golf Resort and warning people to remain indoors and on the lookout for suspicious activity.
Bonner County Undersheriff Ror Lakewold said the original report indicated a male juvenile was shot by an unidentified male suspect.
Investigators, however, were not able to immediately corroborate the details and were working to determined what happened.
Lakewold said the injury was not life-threatening and the unidentified juvenile was taken to Kootenai Health for treatment.
“At this point we don’t feel the public is at risk.
“However, we will update as soon as possible if that assessment changes,” Lakewold said.
