Charlo man dies in golf cart wreck

A Charlo man died in a two-vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon.
According to information from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, 84-year-old John Wesley Gardner, of Charlo, died of injuries he suffered in the crash near the intersection of West Post Creek Road and Logan Road.
Gardner was using his golf cart to retrieve his mail when he was struck and killed on Logan Road.
Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Noah Pesola reported that a 2008 Honda Accord was traveling north on Logan Road when it struck the golf cart. Speed is a suspected factor in the accident, but it is not yet known whether alcohol or drugs were involved.
The patrol is investigating the accident.
