There are few jobs at the Good Old Days that are as hard as judging the dessert contest, but Sam Westenberg, Marion Sands, Margaret Hillary and Edith Schnell gave it their best.
With 13 desserts to taste, mull over, and of course, taste again, they had their hands — and bellies — full.
First place in the junior (16 & under) category, and the $50 prize, went to Annalysia DuMontier’s raspberry pine cake. Kyra Marmon’s carmel apple bites took second, and Lettie Umphrey’s American pie brought third.
For the adults, Katy Minske took home first place and $100 for her Apple Pie walked away with first place and $100, followed by Linda Prosivio’s Strawberry Pretzel and Donna Heisel’s Orange Heisel’s Orange Cake.
