Newport woman killed in crash

PINEHURST — A Newport woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 90 on Thursday morning.

Idaho State Police said David V. Bell was traveling eastbound on the interstate when he went off the roadway after the Pinehurst exit. The Ford F-350 pickup truck landed on its top in Pine Creek.

State police said passenger Lorrie L. Bell, a 54-year-old from Newport, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. David Bell, 61, also of Newport, was transported to Kootenai Health with non-life-threatening injuries.

The 11:50 a.m. crash at milepost 45 remains under investigation.
