2019 Boogie to the Bank draws 283 runners

After a close race last year, the finish at this summer’s Boogie to the Bank was not quite as dramatic as Columbia Falls runner Marcelo Laguera won the 10K race by nearly four minutes.

Laguera finished the course in 33:04.72, beating out Kalispell’s Trace Hobbs, who finished second at 37:58.52.

Columbia Falls had two other runners in the top 10 as Ryan Walther was fifth and Jim Peacock was sixth.

Lindsey Bengston of West Glacier was the top finisher in the women’s 10K, finishing in 41:02.03 while Niki Dezzani of Columbia Falls was second at 42:15.63.

In the 5K races, Elizabeth Wasserman of Goshen, New York, was the winner of the women’s race at 18:25.56 while Owen Stewart of Lethbridge, Alberta won the men’s race with a time of 17:03.42.

This year’s race featured 283 participants, down from 325 last year.
