KELLOGG — With just over one week remaining before the first week of the Silver Valley Community Market, the market committee is still looking for any last minute vendors who want to be a part of the event.

Last year’s event went so well that the committee wanted to see it grow even more in its sophomore season.

With some big changes, like moving the market’s location from the Silver Valley Chamber Office to the Kellogg City Park, and the emphasis that is being put on to bring top flight musical guests, the market is shaping up quite well.

The market committee has been fundraising up a storm lately, selling Market Mugs and co-hosting an auction at the Dirty Dog Saloon, in hopes that the money that is raised can help afford them more opportunities to grow the various aspects of the market that they can.

“We are looking at some stage options for our music,” said Mallory Phillips, market manager. “We have such a wide variety of musicians coming in though that we aren’t quite sure what we’ll need or how much we can or want to spend right away.”

Staging options like a trailer, or even a stage that can be altered depending on the size of the performer(s) are just two of the options the committee is looking at.

After raising $2,000 at their auction last week, and their continuous raising of funds from their $25 special edition Market Mugs, they have a starting point to begin their decision making.

The mugs themselves are a fun way for locals to support the market while having some fun themselves.

“During market season, you can get $1 off all beer garden drinks at the market,” Phillips said. “And drink specials on Fridays at each of the 12 businesses listed on the pint. With locations that span from the Country Lane Resort all the way to the multiple locations in Wallace, there are plenty of ways to save with a Market Mug.”

The Silver Valley Community Market begins next Thursday, June 13, at 5 p.m. If anyone would like to be a vendor, they can fill out a vendor registration form on the Silver Valley Chamber of Commerce website.

Market Mugs are available for purchase at the Silver Valley Chamber Office, and will be available at the Community Market throughout the season.
