Folks here already enjoy the Whitefish Farmers Market, but now there’s a chance to vote for the market as the best in the country.
The Whitefish Farmers Market has been selected to compete in a Sunset magazine readers poll. The market is among six markets around the country that are competing in the Best Farmers’ Market category in the magazine’s Reader’s Choice Travel Awards for 2019.
Rhonda Fitzgerald, market organizer, says it’s great to know that people have such positive feels about the market.
“It’s pretty cool that we’ve been nominated from all the markets in the country,” she said.
Also in the competition, include markets in Eugene, Oregon; Scottsdale, Arizona; Santa Fe, New Mexico; Spokane, Washington: and San Luis Obispo, California.
Voting goes until June 14, and the winners will appear in the September 2019 issue of Sunset.

For the past 15 years, the Whitefish market has included locally grown, farm fresh products and a collection of Montana made arts and crafts, and a variety of food trucks. Evenings also feature live music during the market sponsored by local businesses.
