Both pieces were constructed by the Sandpoint High School welding class, comprised of Aiden Ackerman, Garret Bamer, Caleb Davis, Kade MacDonald, Conner Matlosz and Matt Sanford.

The lunch rush at Joel’s Mexican Restaurant was a little more packed than usual on Tuesday afternoon, as the Sandpoint High School welding students constructed a copper-plated burrito bar in front of the restaurant as part of their year-long project.

Led by instructor Jake Stark, the team of five seniors, a handful of Joel’s employees and several community volunteers finished putting up the structure over a couple of hours.
