ENTERTAINMENT MUSIC OPTIONS KICK IT INTO HIGH GEAR

SANDPOINT — Bicycle races, classical music concerts, theatre and tons of live music all over town on tap this week.
Two big events are the CHAFE Gran Fondo – there’s lots happening around this event — and for music lovers, a don’t miss concert takes place tonight as the Selway Trio plays the Panida Theater in a very special performance to benefit the Festival at Sandpoint Summer Music Camp.
Peruse at your leisure and go find some pleasure.
Thursday, June 13
Selway Trio
Venue: Panida Theater, 300 N. First Ave., in Sandpoint.
Time: 7:30 p.m.
Selway trio is a group of music professors who work together at the Lionel Hampton School of Music at the University of Idaho. They met last year and have been playing in a trio ever since. Jason Moody on violin, Miranda Wilson on cello, and Soon-Wha Roh on piano. They will be playing music by Clara Schumann, Felix Mendelssohn and Astor Piazzolla.

Sandpoint Community Sing
Venue: 11362 W. Pine St., in Sandpoint. (It’s just a couple of miles up Pine Street from town and the driveway is on the right. Look for a white mailbox.)
Time: 7-8:30 p.m.
Sandpoint Community Sing is a journey of songs about nature, life, love, emotions, activism, peace and the overall human experience. No singing or musical experience is necessary. Led by Kristine Rae.

Panida Playhouse Jr. Theater Camp
Venue: Panida Little Theater, 304 N. First Ave., in Sandpoint.
Time: 1-3 p.m.; camp runs through July 23
This summer drama camp is designed for young thespians, ages 11-14, who want to work on their dramatic skills and play a role in a real show. The group will perform a Mystery Dinner Show at the Panida’s Little Theater as the finale. Camp is held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays through July 23.

Pend Oreille Chorale and Orchestra Spring Concert

The Pend Oreille Chorale and Orchestra presents their spring concert featuring Rachmaninoff, Aaron Copeland, Randall Thompson, Franz Schubert and G.F. Handel.

Sandpoint Contra Dance

Featuring live music with Redwood City and Emily Faulkner calling. Previous dancing experience is not necessary and all dances are taught. First-time dancers are encouraged to arrive on time for the first dance at 7 pm.

The energetic and charismatic local musical duo BOCA is a multi-instrumental duo featuring the talented Ben Olson and Cadie Archer from the Sandpoint indie folk rock band Harold’s IGA.

Ron Greene

Ron Greene is heading north for another special night at the Beer Hall. Ron has been a dynamic musical presence as a professional musician and solo artist, spending the last decade performing throughout the Northwest and West Coast. As a soloist Greene’s intimate stage presence has gained him a reputation as a passionate singer.

A new vaudeville show with music by Irving Berlin, George M Cohan, Victor Herbert, Jerome Kern, & George Gershwin that tells the stories of five immigrants who came through Ellis Island near the turn of the 20th century.
