Music Mondays will begin June 24 at the Coeur d'Alene Public Library with a series of summer concerts every Monday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on the lawn near McEuen Park.

Concertgoers are invited to bring picnics, lawn chairs and blankets. In case of rain or other inclement weather, the concerts will move into the library Community Room.

The first concert, on June 24, will feature the Kathy Colton Trio. Singer/songwriter Colton brings you songs that touch the soul and tell of the joys and trials of life. She also plays some familiar favorites that will have you tapping your toes and singing along.

Subsequent concerts include:

Coeurimba: July 1. This group plays high-energy dance music on large wooden xylophone-like instruments called marimbas, combining both a melodic innocence and rhythmic sophistication.

Rusty Jackson Trio: July 8. Rusty Jackson is a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and a truly unique performer. His shows are filled with creative original songs, as well as familiar classics and spontaneous comedy.

Arvid Lundin and Deep Roots: July 22. Drawing from a variety of fiddling styles, Lundin leads the band playing high energy, traditional and original tunes. Dave Beach plays lightning-fast mandolin and hard-driving rhythm guitar. Char adds her hauntingly beautiful voice, harp and bodhran. Cherie sets a great beat with her bass. Together they play a mix of Celtic, Scandinavian, North American roots music and contemporary tunes and songs.

Lake City String Quartet: July 26. The Lake City String Quartet has performed extensively throughout North Idaho and Eastern Washington. Not your typical string quartet, this talented group likes to mix it up with a variety of music including classical, jazz, Celtic, Americana and pop music.

Living Well: Aug. 5. This is a musical group from Coeur d’Alene featuring a duet of vocals, djembe, guitars, bass and mandolin. Living Well has been a favorite at the Coeur d’Alene Farmers Market for a number of years, as well as in many area businesses and events.

Spring Tonic: Aug. 12. This band plays traditional and contemporary bluegrass and roots music of uncommon intensity with the songs and instrumentals of Appalachia, traditional fiddle tunes and bluegrass banjo breakdowns. Collectively, this foursome has more than 150 years of playing experience inspired by Bill Monroe, Old Crow Medicine Show, Bob Dylan and the Grateful Dead. They even play kid songs.

Four Peace: Aug. 26. Based in North Idaho, this is an acoustic Americana band with overtones of bluegrass, '60s, pop, folk rock and more, featuring soft vocals, mandolin, guitar, banjo and stand-up bass.

Coeur d’Alene Chamber Music Society: Sept. 9. The society was created to give local musicians a chance to share their talent performing chamber music in North Idaho’s growing arts community. Current groups include brass quintet CdaBrassXFive, the North Idaho Trumpet Ensemble and saxophone quartet, Gluteus Saximus.
