OTHELLO — The Adams County Development Council will hold its annual banquet on Thursday, June 27 at 5:30 p.m.

“We bring in stakeholders and whoever else wants to come to and celebrate everything that’s gone on in the last year,” said Janis Rountree, business development and marketing coordinator for the council.

During the banquet, the council will give its annual report and talk about what it is looking forward to in the future. The keynote speaker this year will be Kirk H. Schulz. Schulz is the president of Washington State University and is a professor at the Gene and Linda Voiland School of Chemical Engineering and Bioengineering.

The annual report will highlight the achievements that Adams County has been able to achieve this year, such as the solar farm in Lind, the expansion of two food processing plants in Othello and the career showcase in Othello.

“We’ve had a lot of announcements that this county hasn’t seen in a long time,” Rountree said.

The Adams County Development Council annual banquet will take place on Thursday, June 27, at the Sacred Heart Parish Hall, 450 S. Seventh Ave., in Othello. It will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a social hour. An Asian-themed dinner of beef kabobs, chicken satay, rice pilaf and salad will begin at 6 p.m., with the annual report given during the meal. The keynote speaker will start at 7 p.m.

Tickets may be purchased in advance through the Adams County Development Council website, growadamscounty.com. They are $40 a person or $350 for a table of eight. Everyone is invited to attend.
