POST FALLS — Three people were transported to Kootenai Health on Tuesday afternoon as a result of a two-vehicle crash on eastbound Interstate 90 near Pleasantview Road.

According to Idaho State Police, Margaret J. Hyatt, 80, of Nelson, British Columbia, driving a 2012 Hyundai SantaFe, was stopped along the shoulder of the freeway at 12:31 p.m.

Sandra L. Bodak, 59, of Rathdrum, driving a 2007 GMC Sierra, was traveling eastbound when Hyatt moved her vehicle from the right shoulder into the eastbound lanes of travel in front of the Sierra.

The vehicles collided and Hyatt's vehicle came to rest in the eastbound lanes, while Bodak's vehicle came to rest in the median.

Hyatt was in critical condition at Kootenai Health on Tuesday night.

Bodak, along with her passenger, Breanna A. Bodak, 20, of Rathdrum, were treated and released from the hospital.

The roadway was blocked by Hyatt's vehicle for about 30 minutes.

All those involved in the crash were wearing seat belts and alcohol is not a factor. An investigation continues.
