A Flathead County man is scheduled to appear in court next week on charges he stole guns from his mother and stole two vehicles.

Roddy Willis White, 23, is scheduled to be arraigned at 9 a.m., Thursday, June 27, at the Flathead County Justice Center.

He is charged with two felonies, burglary and theft.

In the theft case, it is alleged by the Kalispell Police Department that White stole a vehicle that was parked at the Job Service building in August 2018. The man who reported the theft said he was inside taking a test, but had left the keys in a Ford Bronco.

After Kalispell Police had broadcast an alert for the vehicle, a Flathead County Sheriff’s Deputy saw it parked at a home. When officers initially tried to talk to White, he allegedly ran from the home and into the waiting hands of other officers.

Police said White confessed to stealing the vehicle after he was released from jail for stealing another vehicle.

According to authorities, White said he stole the Bronco so he could go home.

Then, in the burglary case, White’s mother said her son wasn’t welcome at her and her husband’s home in Columbia Falls, but that he did live in a camper on the property.

One day the couple returned home to find three guns missing. They later found White at a bar and confronted him about the guns. He left the bar before officers arrived.

Four days later, police were called when the couple found one of the guns in his camper. Five days after that, they heard that White reportedly had sold one of the guns to a person at a smoke shop in Hungry Horse for $200. The person returned it to the parents.

White faces 20 years in prison on the burglary charge and three years on the theft.
