SANDPOINT — Love the retro games and miss playing Pac-Man on something bigger than your smartphone? You’re in luck.
Kale Miller, 27, is opening Coins Arcade and Bar on Friday, June 28.
Located upstairs in the Cedar Street Bridge, Coins Arcade will feature retro games and cocktail game tables that offer 60 old favorites such as Pac Man, Dig Dug, Centipede, Space Invaders, Galaga and more. Also on tap, will be an air hockey table, Rush (a sit-down driving game), Hoop Shoot, Skee Ball, and Miller’s favorite — a classic pinball game or two.
Coins will be family and youth friendly all days through early evenings. Then, after 8 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Coins will be 21 and over and will be serving a number of bottled and draft beers, Belinis, wine, Pepsi products, ice cream novelties, and several fresh prepared items such as tater tots, chicken twists, paninis, pretzel bites with pub cheese, PB&J, and other tasty snacks.
Miller, who has lived in Sandpoint since 2003, saw a need to expand inside entertainment options.
“I want Coins to be a fun place where young people can hang out, families can connect, and adults can enjoy a beer or glass of wine while challenging friends in games that are different than what they are playing at home.”
“I will rotate other games in as I get requests,” Miller said. “Once we’re up and running, Coins will host company parties, team-building events, birthday parties, and Mario Kart tournaments.”
Coins will be open Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 11 a.m.-8 p.m., Thursdays, 11 a.m.–midnight, Fridays and Saturdays, 11 a.m.- 2 a.m., and Sundays 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
Coins Arcade is Sandpoint’s first arcade and bar.
